1993 240sx Power Steering Pump Question

will an s14 power steering pump work for a s13 ?

EDIT: Actually im not 100% sure but I do know they look exactly the same and install the same. I don't see how they could be different.

I believe the s14 pump runs at a higher pressure than the s13 pump. Search the board to double check on that.

Would a power steering pump going out make a whining noise only when turning or can it do it while engine is idling? if not.... what the hell is making the noise. any help would be appreciated.

It could be either way. Be sure to check that the belt isn't loose. That may not be it, but it's so simple you just have to check it. If you still can't find the noise, have someone turn the wheel while you listen around under the hood. Don't just go replacing parts without knowing for sure what it is.
