so far i've changed the spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotar, fuel filter, fuel pump, air filter, clutch, transmission, master and slave cylinder. My car still lacks power and doesn't idle right, any suggestions on what else i need to check or replace, i just bought the car like 2months ago and it only has like 100k miles on it. Its been a pain in my *** ever since i bought it, but i love my nissan<3

for the idle, clean the iacv and disconnect hose going from aiv to air filter box. clean throttle, too.

the black streak is probably exhaust coming from aiv. the aiv is supposed to be getting filtered air but the reed valves on the aiv are shot so exhaust is getting in there and dirtying up your maf and intake etc. just disconnect the hose so aiv gets air from the environment.(and doesnt send exhaust into filter area) aiv is useless except you need it for pollution control in some states.

The IACV can be cleaned with carb or throttle cleaner. Mine was gunked up with carbon powder which is almost like mud to get off. There is a link in my signature that goes into some detail about the IACV.

i disconnected the aiv hose and i cleaned the throttle body and my idle went up from 700-900 to 900-1000, after that i clean the iacv and my idle went up again 950-1150. The iacv was pretty clean except part of the gasket was broken off, do you think that could be the problem? I was looking at my battery and it doesn't look like its connected right, i think that might part of the problem cuz it looks like theirs a wire going from the ground cable to the positive cable???

My idle went up when I cleaned throttle and disconnected AIV hose. If the broken gasket left a big enough hole that would cause a high idle. You have to take the spring and plastic piston out to clean the iacv right.a ground wire touching the postive would blow fuses and spark.
