Does anyone know the location of the PCV valve for the 1993 KA24 DE engine in the 240sx 2 door coupe?

unless you already have a breather filter, there should be a hose connecting your valve cover --> to intake.

Thats not where the PCV valve is, not even close

Bmac, I know on the DOHC KA's its somewhere on the lower intake manifold or something. Im going to look at my spare manifold in a few minutes and find out exactly where its at.

Actually that is exactly where the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve is.

It is basically a small hole with a small hose attached to it.

It is attached directly to the "Breather-Separator"(I think you guys are calling it the "Breather Filter").

The breather-separator is located right next to the valve cover (in front of the oil cap). You should see a small hose connect to the valve cover area from this breather-separator. That is the PCV valve hose.

Click on this picture attachment to see what I mean (it is taken directly from a 1993 240SX service manual)

If the attachments don't work. Here are some pictures I uploaded to WE-TODD-DID-RACING.

jesus, the info in this thread is so misleading. the pcv valve is not the part with the hose attached to it coming off of the valve cover. its behind the head in the #1 cylinder area. its connected to the breather box true, but its not as accessible as this thread is making it out to be. your best bet, if you dont have an fsm, is to get a haynes manual from autozone and find it that way.

Yup, I found it earlier but didnt have time to post it. If you look at your thermostat housing, right under it there is another box (Breather Separator in the pic above). On the back of that box is the PCV Valve.

the pcv valve is in the picture above but is hard to get too(as has been said). jack up car, pull of oil filter, and get some longe needle nose pliers and a wrench(forget the size). just pull the hose off and put the wrench on it. it is up and to the right of the oil filter when looking from pass wheel well.

Thankyou to all who have replied and pinpointed where the valve is located.I agree with the comment that it is in a really tough spot to get at. HoweverI will try again.

Hey man. I took that directly from the FSM for a 1991-1994 240SX.

I'm pretty damn sure what those lines are pointing to are exactly what they are.

You can argue with what PCV valve is and whatnot, but the man was just asking for the location/area.

The pictures explain all, so no need to argue about what is a PCV valve and whether it is attached to the breather filter or valve cover.

Either way he should be able to find it now.

dont take it so personally. the pics in the fsm can be misleading. sometimes its easier to explain things in laymans terms than what the book technically calls them. didnt want to make anyone feel dumb or anything like that, but simplifying things does wonders.

You may have to remove the alternator to get at the PCV.Is screwed on the engine block, very hard to get. Use a 17mm wrench.DONT use teflon or any type of sealant on the threads.

i have a suggestion as well. on the later ka24de's, altima specifically, the breather box utilizes a push in style pcv. if the two breathers happen to be identical, id suggest you swap it over to the later version used by the altima and save yourself some hassle.

The breather box on the 240 KA have threads so I dont think that the Alti's PCV will work without creating a HUGE vaccum leak.

Now what you can do is drill out the old PCV to remove the plunger inside, connect a hose and use a "slide in" valve instead.

Dunno why KA needs individual ports for the PCV.

thats what i was talking about though, the older altima ka's utilized a threaded pcv as well but went to push-in later on. im just wondering how much difference there is between the two breather boxes and if they could be interchanged.

death to PCV valve! i have a 1992 240sx and i had to change it, it took me sooooo long, i think its easier to get at it from the bottem, removing tha alternator nd such.. taking it out from tha top seems like way to much work.. neway have fun doing it, i almost killed somebody last time i did it, very very frustrating..

What I did was remove the alternatorRemove the 2 lower intake bracesand use a open wrench (17mm) and even so, spaece was very limited.

Good luck trying to replace/remoce the breather box. I tried the last time I removed the intake mani was very hard to do whith the engine in the car
