1993 240sx Hatch Trunk Won't Open with the Key

When I try to open my truck with the key, it won't open. The only way I can open my trunk is to use the driver side lever. I noticed that I can now turn the key farther than it used to be. In the past the only problem I had with the trunk was that I couldn't turn the key after immediately inserting it. I would have wait for second or two while jiggling the key before it would turn.

What is wrong? Did the trunk lock break from normal use or did someone try to break into my trunk?

if you can turn they key farther than you could before it might be that the cylinder turned and it wont release. try looking from the inside and turning the key, see if the cylinder is turning with it.
