1993 240sx Hatch Trunk Won't Open With Key

When I try to open my truck with the key, it won't open. The only way I can open my trunk is to use the driver side lever. I noticed that I can now turn the key farther than it used to be. What is wrong? Did the trunk lock break from normal use or did someone try to break into my trunk?
