On the way home the other day i ran over some weird object. I drove the car over some ramps today to inspect for any damage. Everything looked good except for the driver side frame rail. One part of the frame rail had the gray coating scratch off exposing the paint color of my car which is red.

Is this something i need to worrying about? I'm assuming that gray coating is there for a reason, maybe for rust prevention? Is there anything that i can buy to cover the exposed part?

It's a rubberized undercoating. It's something they would spray on the bottom of the car from the factory to prevent rust from forming. You can buy a spray can of it at the auto store, or I would just recommend buying some rustoleum or something and just spraying over the area. Simple as that.
