Hi there, I'm posting this for a friend of mine- we are trying to figure out what's up with his girlfriend's 240. Basically this all started about a month ago: bogging, hunting idle once warmed up. It progressed to the point that it will only stay running for about 1-2mins(after ~2mins of warm-up) now, then flood out/die. Below are things that were replaced at one point in time, or checked while it was flooded(and wouldn't start). New fuel pump/filterNew O2 sensorNew spark plugs 1month agoReplaced EGR-BPT vac hoseReplaced throttle body intake tube rubber(cracked/dry-rotted)Swapped in a working MAF - no change. Good ground to connector.Checked coolant temp sensor(~1.7k cold)Checked spark.Attempted to run open-loop(disconnected TPS).

Any thoughts? I have a feeling it may be one of the idle air valves. Fast idle valve? How hard is this thing to get off without completely dismantling the intake manifold?

Cheers,Jamie

boy that sure does sound like a bad coolant sensor. whats it read when warm? can you keep her running by holding throttle open?

It was either 1.3k or 1.7k, in an open garage, radiator/hoses were cold. Temp gauge was still at C, I'd guess ambient temp was around 45-50*F. Spec is 2.1k-2.9k at 68*F, so I didn't think it was that far off.

::edit:: thing is we couldn't keep it running long enough for the temp gauge to register as warmed up. I used that term loosely above. ::edit::

We could barely keep it running by constantly goosing the throttle, but as soon as you let off, it dies.
