1993 240sx Fixing Timing chain but distributer moved a little

Once i pulled the distributer out with the pop sound, the rotor moved a little. Originally it was pointing exactly at 9 o clock. THen upon taking it out, it moved up clockwise a few degrees. I tried turning at it back and installing it, but once the distributer is in, the rotor moves back to the position it moved to before.
