1993 240sx electric fan

I was doing some work the other day on the 240 that required me to remove the fan shroud. Upon further inspection i noticed that the electric fan(radiator) was not wired up or at least the wires came undone. My question is ... Did that year (1993) come with an electric and a mechanical fan? Ive considered wiring it back up but if it ran all this time.. 2 years or so... without it then i guess theres no real need to have it except for backup.

the electric should be for your ac, mechanical for your engine.

My 95 240 has dual electric fans and a mechanical one on the motor, but I've never seen or heard the electrical fans come on?
