1993 240SX A/T stuck in drive, any ideas

I took my car for a drive and while driving i noticed that the shifter was loose from neutral to 1st, it just slide around. I parked and put it into reverse and it was still in drive. drove home and parked it and it seems like it is neutral. It won't start and the shifter is loose. If i release the parking brake it rolls back so thats why i believe it is in neutral. Anybody have a clue as to what broke? I am taking the front console apart to to investigate.

alrite fixed it.shifter linage to A/T was disconnected. IS a cotter pin the only way the connected?
