hello all.. took out my SR harness and unhooked the lower harness from the fuse block under the hood to clean up the engine bay and paint it. now after install the harnesses I am blowing the 30 amp fuseable link and the 75amp fusable link that is located under the hood next to where the battery would be. I also have NO power at all to the fuse block under the dash. and I only have the driverside headlight working. I have the silvia front end conversion ( did about three months ago) so I don't have the pop ups anymore. only the driverside low and high beam work. no other lights are wokring at all in the car... Well just was hopeing that someone might be able to shed some light on the subject. I am been reading the manual on this car and reading all the electral info but still have no clue why they are blowing. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks again in advance to any helpful hintsChris

First is your battery connected backwards? If not try disconnecting the alt leads and see if it still blows the fuse. To blow both those fuses you have to have something hookud up wrong.

battery isn't hooked up backwards and even when I unhook the alt it still blows them. any odeas on the issue that NO power is going to the fuse block under the dash,... will you think I have to get another harness that goes under the dash.... let me know thanks again for your suggestionsChris

the reason you have no power under the dash is the main fuse is blowing. that is what feeds power to the fuse box inside the car. You have a dead short somewhere near that main fuse.

I was looking at the wiring diagram and am having trouble finding the actually "main" fuse. Is it under the dash???? I was looking into the diode that is located behind the radio but not quite sure if that would be it. thanks againChris

the 75 amp fuse you said keeps blowing IS your main fuse.

ok then thank you very much.. I was sure I would have to remove the dash and replace the harness or something. good thing I didn't start that project..could the altenator be bad thats why there is a short in it. I didn't unhook the loweer harness fromt he alt I just unhooked it from the fuse block under the hood near the battery,. I cleaned the engine bay with tar and wax remover and a grey scotch brite pad then painted it. hooked everything back uop where I unplugged it and then there was the fuses blowing. I checked all the grounds after I oainted it thniking that maybe aftert paining it they weren't getting a conection but they all show fine (with test light). well thanks again for your help... I guess maybe my lower harness went bad..Chris
