OK, here's the deal. I changed my headgasket, and had my valve seals replaced, etc. After I got done re-installing it, I found a little piece of metal on the ground. After a lot of head scratching I looked at a spare head I have and figured out it's one of the two little pieces (metal "sleeves") that go up into the bottom of the head in the front two holes that the head bolts come down through (i.e. these two pieces are "sleeves" around the two front bolts where the head meets the block and are 4/10 of an inch long). At least I'm pretty sure this is the case as the spare head doesn't have them. This is just speculation as it fits and there seems to be no other place it could have come from. The first question is: is it important that I put it back? Seems like it would be a good idea to me, and even if it isn't I would feel a lot better if all the pieces of my engine were present and accounted for.The primary question is: I know Aluminum head to iron block setups usually use bolts that deform when tightened down, but some parts guy said Nissan didn't use this kind. I have not fired the engine but the head bolts are torqued down to spec. Should I shell out $50 for a new set of bolts if I take the head off again?I'm planning on using a new head gasket, they're cheap enough.P.S. in case the other one also fell out, what is the part # for these? Thanks,TravisD
