My z's a/t will not go to 4th gear. Anyone know if a bad a/t fluid temp sensor can cause that. Thanx for the help.

I've never heard of that being a reason for a non-shift but that doesn't mean its not possible. I'd check into the electronics of the transmission and make sure your shift solenoid for 4th is being energized.

you can do the selfdiagnosis on the Z trans. I know I posted it in the Z forum somewhere,if not i can repost if you cant find it....

Anyway, it IS possible that the AT temp sensor would cause a no shift, but ive never heard of that happening...

What most people do is put a resistor in there so the AT thinks the ATF is always at the right temp. Apparently really makes the trans shift nicely... Search for a post about this in the INFINITI J30 forum. Its not on a Z but it will apply 100%.
