Driver side front... Wouldn't care but its MY window. The cable decided to rape itself this weekend. Probably slowly splitting thread after thread until it bunched up. Surprisingly it would go halfway down and back up a couple times. Thought something was in the track but when I removed the door panel this is what i found Looks like the cover to the winding mechanism is spot welded on. Is it worth the effort to run another cable on it or just get a new/used one. Motor itself works. Does anyone have one handy or near one of their local pick n pulls? I would have to source one from a distance away. One of the things I never pulled from my parts cars...

Did you check the classified area for a part out? I think Mike G will be the most likely to have one in stock.

I know I'm out of drivers side regulators.

Note that they made a design change sometime in the window regulators. I think a brand new regulator is only like $60-$100, so I'd just get a new one versus a used one that you have no idea how good it is.

yes,and the design change happened AFTER 1996,as a redesign of the weak part installed in every 90-96Q. My original lasted 60K,its replacement lasted 60K,that ones replacement is still going strong with over 180K on it-so the redesigned part is worth getting!

Funny, I did a search and find this from just a month ago...

My '92 gave me a Christmas present - front passenger side regulator is busted.

So now I'm on infinitipartsusa.com looking for the part #. I've tried google as well, no luck.

Anyone have the part # handy? or I suppose I can send them an email...hoping to get this sucker ordered and install my rebuilt bose at the same time.

She just turned 88,000 miles the other day

I've been using Circle Infiniti's online parts department for the last year. Its much better than Infiniti of Scottsdale ever was/is.

http://www.circleinfiniti.com/Parts.html

The part numbers for my 1994 are:

80721-60U17 : Left hand Regulator at $118
80720-60U17 : Right Hand Regulator at $155

Might want to check that for your 1992, also make sure to enter in your VIN on the left otherwise it will say the part is not available or something like that.

Thanks for the tips guys,

I'll check out circle infiniti - I'm just looking to put a new one in. The ebay ones are used correct? Pulling the door panel tomorrow to assess the damage.

Merry Christmas!

Just checked circleinfiniti and used my VIN... references the original part # and says superceded by the above...at least to 6/94 born on date

Looks like this is the new and improved version. We have a winner!

black plastic tabs on the slide broke on mine... white plastic on the pulley / guide on the top looked okay, but pretty sure it's the original. Just going to replace the whole thing...

and finally putting in my rebuilt Bose at the same time! I knew I was procrastinating for a good reason!
