I just got a 1994 Q45t in a trade. Someone put huge aftermarket wheels on it that aren't my style. I found some original 1990-1992 Q45 wheels that I like. These wheels weren't offered after 1992 so I'm not sure if they will fit on the 1994 Q45. Anyone know if this will work?

Dia: 15"
Bolts: 5
Bolt Pattern: 5 on 4.5"
SIZE OF WHEEL: 15 X 6
P/N: 60U10 45CG9
HOLLANDER #: 73635

I don't know offsets.

Thanks,
Frank

Thanks. The guy selling the wheels thought there may have been a caliper change or something in the 4-wheel steering in 1993/94 that necessitated a wider wheel (6.5" vs. 6.0"). I was hoping that wasn't the case. I've always liked the very first wheels we saw in USA ads for Q45.

What do you think of the Quattroporte? Ive found those to be interesting cars, but I've always been very leery about owning an Italian car?

A customer that shelters a jet up this way has a 2005. Says it is one of the most exciting cars he has ever driven. But it is hellish to maintain.

The Quattroporte has been my daily driver for 2 years. I've put about 30K miles on it. It has been very reliable. . . and a great kick in the a** to drive. It came with clutch software update and a fairly new clutch ("Duoselect" F1 manual transmission.) I've heard that if you let it pretend it is an automatic it eats the clutch. I prefer manual mode and haven't had any problems. Mechanic says I've got plenty of clutch left. The newer cars (pretty much everything after 2007) switched to automatic transmissions. So far my maint. costs have been the same or less than for the BMW 528i and 540i I drove previously.

Quattroporte has some minor quirks--biggest is annoying "malfunction" warning that Robert Roselli (Roselli's Foreign, San Jose, CA) has looked at three times. It's typical fuel vapor sensor issue/gas cap not on tight problem that happens more often than it doesn't. Roselli assures me engine is fine and after 2 years, I just live with the warning on the dash. My BMWs had similar gremlins after 70K mi. that could never be resolved despite $ thousands spent on repairs.

So I say go for the Maserati (at least until there are some used Teslas at prices mere humans can afford!)

elwesso,

Wow. I'm jealous. Q45 w/ manual. How do you make that happen and what does it cost?

My "new" Q is not coming to life as quickly/easily as I'd hoped. Got new injectors installed and manifold back on after previous owner took everything apart. But now can't get past "Security" lock down. I'm looking at the remedy posts but we haven't figured it out yet. I'm eager to get this car on the road.

Regards,

Frank

Frank thanks for the reply. That's interesting, I imagine most of those cars is the "intimidation" factor, and also parts costs... I think the downfall for those perhaps is that for similar money you can get a similar year M5 in either flappy paddle trans or manual trans with 100HP more and gets a little better fuel economy (who cares), and it's over 1 second faster in the 1/4 mile (mid-12s in the M5 vs mid 13s in the Maserati).. My G35 is about as fast as that car and gets 26 MPG highway.

That said, I bet the Maserati is a fantastic car to drive, the interior looks very well done, and it's probably the best value in terms of semi-exotic Italian cars..

Making the manual trans in the Q is not an easy task but it's doable.... There's a reason why only a few people in this world are crazy enough to do it.
