I have a 1992 300ZX Twin Turbo with a bad injector. I'm considering replacing all the injectors at once since I know they are prone to failure and I'm not interested in having to deal with the same issue every year or two.

I drive the car very little, only during nice weather here in New England and very sparingly. Maybe 1-2K miles per year. Care is in great shape, clean and stock, which is how I'd like to keep it.

I can do some very basic repair stuff myself but feel this is over my head so a buddy of mine will be helping with (or pretty much doing) the installation.

I'm looking around and see I can get stock injectors here:

But Concept Z has suggested that I consider upgrading to a newer style injector here for added longevity:

They also said I would need this adapter kit if I upgrade to the newer style:

Will the newer style injectors really last longer? Any other advantage to them? Disadvantage?

Is this a straight & easy swap with this adapter kit, or would other changes be needed? Again I really want to keep my car stock so don't want to start down a slippery slope of various upgrades/etc....

Also, from reading the Z32 Wiki, it seems like I will need to replace the intake manifold gasket, which I believe is here:

Any thoughts/suggestions? Anything else I might need for this project?

Thanks in advance!!!

Yes you do need to get the new style injectors, they seriously will last much longer and IMHO since you only drive your car ~2k miles a year its a no brainer that you need to just go ahead and switch them all out to the new style. Also yes you are correct, you will need this gasket.

Don't look at your injector going out as a bad thing, instead look at it as a blessing. ;)

Call SpecialtyZ.com and tell them what your doing and they will fix you up with what you need. :bigthumb:

Get late style 370CC, get adapter kit, be done with it. You need to decide whether you're going to do a plenum pull or dremel method. Doing your first plenum pull is going to be a pain, and you're probably going to need to replace some hoses if you do that. You can also make your life a lot easier for the reinstall and future work by doing the plenum water line deletes. Probably use search too. http:\\z32.wikispaces.com will be your friend as well.

Thanks guys! I think I'm going with the new 370CC injectors, adapter kit, gasket, PCV valves/hoses, fuel hoses.

Thanks

Oh, don't forget fuel rail insulators if you're doing the plenum pull.

I am doing the plenum pull.

Do I need the fuel rail insulators if I'm not taking the fuel rail out? Do I need to take it out for some reason?

OK, sorry, I re-read the faq and see it says the easiest way to get the injectors out is to take out the fuel rail.

So, if I'm converting to the newer 370cc injectors do I need the fuel rail insulators for 90-94TT, or 95-96TT?

Sorry for the dumb question!

Good plan!

You're going to want 90-94 TT fuel rail insulators. The adapter kit inserts into the fuel rail, but the fuel rail itself isn't changing on the outside so you just need stock insulators for your year.
