I have a 92 s13 with an s13 sr20det, but it won't fire up.
I bought it without a turbo so I knew it wouldn't start, now the owner said there was a missing fuse and it won't fire up after he sold the turbo.
Now, I tried everything, car gets spark and fuel just fine, but it sounds like the firing is in the wrong order..
Tomorrow I will get some fresh spark plugs cause it seems like a few might not fire up.
But this is very weird.

It cranks and you hear little popping noises and when the dump pipe was open you could see a flame sometimes.
Now that lead me to believe that it's sparking at the wrong time.

Any advice on this would be amazing!
Thanks!

Here's the Links to my Video's I posted of the cranking up.
I will post one during the day time tomorrow.

Vid one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEeOyclCBUg
Vid two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcQq560XCh0 <-- now this video is a question about a plug and wiring that consists of 2 white wires and 1 black one, I was wondering what that has to do with anything.
I really appreciate any help I can get on this.

Thanks,
Ivan.

Sounds like your timing is just off... Rotate the CAS while trying to fire it. If it still doesnt start, take the valve cover off and get the motor to TDC. Verify the CAS and camshafts are installed correctly.

Probably the cas. Mine did the exact same thing. Pop the cover off the cas, pull the cas itself out and turn it one tooth at a time with a screw driver. Every time you turn a tooth, try starting it. It'll take a while, but if it never works you know the cas isnt the problem

Hoffman, that's a horrible way to do it. I wrote a how-to on how to correctly set your cas.

That's horrible?
How?
And if I sound dumb, sorry, never messed with an engine with ignition coils.
Someone on Zilvia gave me a link on how to set the cas back to factory setting and how to check the timing is right.

My last engine was a flop too. Ended up sitting out the entire season, never drove my car except at a couple local events. It happens.

Just gotta keep you chin up :dblthumb: .

I wouldn't really mind if it was my car, would be a good reason to rebuild it with goodies.
But this was going to be a daily for my sis, cause her daily got busted.
The owner said it was a perfect engine...
Yeah....right..
I will be putting this car up for trade for another hatchback with a STOCK KA.
so if anyone has one let me know!

The car needed the fuel pump put back in, the radiator put back on, the intercooler, and the headers.
Now, a really good friend of mind recommended this dudes SR.
The engine looked really clean, just like it was, but the timing was off that's why I couldn't start it.
But the seller says he thought the sound was timing...now he never told me about a knock or any smoke.
I tend to be a trusting person....and that has lead me to crap.
My good friend couldn't believe the seller.

But in the end, I traded the SR with another good friend of mine haha
He had a hatch with a FRESHLY REBUILT .20 over and high compression, now I seen this car get built and run, and he said he wanted a turbo car now, so we went a traded straight up.
So all I can say is God is Good.

Glad it all worked out for you. Tell your friend to drop by NICO and he'll be sure to find every bit of info he needs for his new SR.

Yes headers, the exhaust manifold where the t25 bolts to.
