i just recently aquired my nissan and it seems to have a sticky transmission, it is a cable operated clutch so i thought it might be the cable but it seemed just fine. when i depress the clutch it feels fine, maybe a little stiff at the end but nothing big. when i release the clutch though, it seems to hesitate to return and seems very inconsistant with preasure. there was one insodent when the pedal literally left my foot while still depressed. i'm thinking its the pivot point where the lever goes into the transmission housing, either that or it might be the clutch fork. not sure. please help. thanks for all your time.

What do you mean the pedal left your foot?

i mean that the pedal has so little return pressure that it hesitates to return to the rest position and my foot left the surface of the clutch pedal. i was talking to one of my mechanic friends and he thinks that it might be a return spring inside the transmission. i was also told by one of the SR20 moderators;

RED_DET:"It could be the cable. It could be the throw out bearing as well. Those transmission get nasty inside and have tons of gunk build up, especially around where the throw out bearing seats. May need a good cleaning."

need anymore info? thanks for taking an interest.
