http://philadelphia.craigslist....html

this guy lives up the street from me and i have seen this thing firsthand and had a feeling it didn't run at that time..

since then i've been overcome with desire for a KA24DET and then this pops up on craigslist.

my questions are:

should i keep the KA24DE thats in it (the one that doesn't run for one reason or another) or do i buy the other KA24DE & remanufactured ECU for the extra $500 and get it swapped myself.

also... what would be my best bet in turning this into a KA-T when and if i got it, turbo-wise.

$1100 is not bad for that car, considering the extras that he's listed. if you think that you can fix it, i would say go for it. however i would try to talk him down as much as you can, i bet you could get him down to $900 or so.

the body damage doesn't look too bad, it doesn't look creased anywhere. the cracked windshield is generally replaced under insurance for no cost, at least most people i speak with and the policy I have covers that.

the only thing i would worry about is the "electrical issues"...if you know your way around these cars, i'm sure enough tinkering can expose the issue.

but no rust, straight frame...not bad.
