I'm not an expert, but brought my Q45 transmission to trusted mechanic. He looked at the color of the fluid and it's red, which is supposedly a good thing except the gear when it's on Drive is slipping. He recommends replacing/rebuilding the transmission. Would this be the only option I have? If it is, will a 1994 Q45 transmission fit in perfectly with a 1992? I saw someone selling a 94 online, but I checked the specs between the two models and they have some differences.

Any advice from experts on this forum would be appreciated. Judging by the message boards, you seem to be all experts.

Of course, if you know of anyone selling a 1992 Q45 transmission that is reasonably priced, I'd be very interested in buying.

Thanks,
SJF

94-96 Q trans will bolt up fine to your car. The only difference is with the gearing for 1st and 2nd from what I understand. From a performance stand point, you will not be taking off from a stop as quickly do to the gearing on 1st and 2nd.
