I have a 1992 Q45 It is leaking brake fluid from the ABS unit it does not have Trac. It is leaking from the post, when looking at it, on the left side from where it meets the bottom section of the unit. Does anyone know if there is a way of servicing this unit or do I need to replace it? Thanks in advance!

Cardone sells rebuilds.

Used ones are very flakey unless removed from a wrecked one with a verifiable history of regualr (2 yr. max) fluid changes.

Well when i removed it from a 1991 Q45 (1990-1993 and 1994-1996 ABS units are the same) I wished i had this: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_1...Tools

But its not to bad of a job, just go slow and make sure you use a good wrench when removing the brake lines.

All documented in the FSM: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Q45/1994_Q45/br.pdf

Be sure to read the rest of the FSM when you have a chance: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Q45/1994_Q45

Directly relevant question.

Is there a modern ABS unit equivalent to a brand new '92 Q45 ABS unit?

I notice that a lot of the newer units are more compact, so it might help with gaining a little room in that area of the engine bay.

Especially since we don't have a lot of room in that area to begin with.
