You don't want to use anything but NGK's for the Q. PFR5G-11 will be good, I don't think the iridium plugs vs laser platinums are much different in price, so you should just use those. You can usually find good deals on ebay, just search by that part number.

How many injectors do you have bad? If you've got a 92 Q you will benefit to switching to the 94 injectors, if you have more than one that's bad and/or you have to take the plenum off.

from my experience and what i've read, don't bother with Iridium. The price doesn't justify the performance, which is negligible, if not worse. I ran the NGK Iridium in my 240sx(then ka24de) and switched to the Denso Platinum TT (equivalent to NGK Laser Platinum, both have platinum on Ground and Center electrode), I won't go back to Iridium. The (dual) Platinum's simply performed better for me. All were standard heat range.

You can either get the adapter kit from deatschwerks or run the 94-96 fuel rails with the injectors. The kit is like $100. The injectors were around $700 from ^ last time I checked

NGK BKR7EIX-11 is what you should run.

When I upgraded my fuel rail to the phase II injector setup, I mounted the rail without the plastic spacers so that the injector rails fit snug in each intake runner. I did this about a year ago on my Q and also on my mom's Q about 3 years ago and both have been working great since.

Remember the Phase II injectors use a different wiring plug. The Deachwerks Kit contains the Phase II plugs.

If you can find a 94-96 fuel rail then that's your best bet, I like that solution better than the adapter kit from Deatschwerks personally... Both work, so it comes down to availability and price.

I have a new set of NGK plugs (platinum) for the Q if you're still looking.

Yeah I forgot to mention to also get the harness with the fuel rail. I'd rather do that then have to splice 8 connectors if I had to choose. What I need now is to figure out where I can get replacement connectors to replace the various ones that have become brittle and crumble away over the years. Like the TPS sensor connectors, IACV, and others. Right now some of the connectors to the coil packs have virtually disintegrated, leaving me having to plug the spade terminals in individually on a couple.

Matt - Do you ever get to Augusta GA? The pull-a-part there has a 92 and 96 model Q on the yard. You could get some connectors for the 90-93 model and rails and injector harness from the 96. It might be worth the drive to pick up some spare parts.

I thought of that but the biggest problem with that which I have found is that when pulling used parts like that, you end up with plastic that is close if not in the same condition as what you already have. The fuel rail harness that I got with the phase II fuel rail is still good. It's most of the other connectors that I need. I remember reading somewhere a good time ago that you could get a replacement MAF connector which included the 3 female terminals, plastic housing, and the plastic insert along with the 3 rubber water proof boots (they slipped over each wire before slipping the wire into the plastic connector housing.) to rebuild the MAF connector. I wondered if they had anything like that for the other connectors as well.

It is hit and miss for sure.. If I see one around here with some good connectors, I'll pull it for you. Usually pick-n-pull where I go just lets me have connectors and small wiring items no charge. The problem is Qs are becoming scarce around here. Sometimes I drive to Memphis just to hit the pull-a-part yard when I see some in inventory. I understand Atlanta GA is Qtopia when it comes to salvage cars.

That would be awesome if it isn't much trouble. I was at the yard a few weeks back and saw a 1st gen G50 getting hauled to the front to be crushed and it looked to still have a lot of parts left including the engine and transmission. When parts are getting scarce like these, it's hard to see something like that. It looked to have been in a minor accident to the right front which buckled the hood slightly and I guess it was considered totalled yet still driveable. :frown:
