Just curious if anyone knows where I could pick up a FPCM for my 1992 infiniti Q45 or if there's an acter market variant I could get. The damn thing went out recently and in order to drive it I had to bypass the control module completely and that's only a temporary fix

FPCM going bad is often associated with clogged fuel filter and/or failing fuel pump.
Sure, it's failed, but we don't know the root cause.
Check your part number
60u00 is probably a paperweight. if it's a 60u01, then it may be rebuildable.

yeah when it failed I thought it was the pump so I replaced it the lines and injectors were replaced before and the part # is 60u01 tired opening it up and nothing necessarily looks burnt or lose inside, but im also no car whiz so it could be right In front of my eyes and not even know it

probably a bad solder joint (opened due to heat stress).
If it doesn't smell burnt, then likely it can be rescued.
I've rebuilt a few, but hunting for the bad connection can be time consuming.

If you have the time and some solder skills you can probably fix it yourself.
check out your options, always good in my opinion to have a working spare (online/boneyard).
PM me if you want to pay shipping for me to look at it. Assuming all you need is the grounding path upgrade, I'd do that for $40 plus shipping.
I'd still recommend new fuel filter OEM is: NISS #16400-41B1A

You can try Car Parts, it's a website that sources used parts from dismantlers and salvage yards. Some of the places will ship, while others want you to pick up or even pull it yourself. With modules, it really is a hit or miss. I've had pretty good luck with the site.

We got a 95 Q in at the Pull-a-part yesterday. First time I've seen one there in a couple of years. I pulled the FPCU and opened it. Everything looks good. I can test it in my Q at some point, and let you know for sure if it works.

Does anyone know if the module grounds through the mounts to the car, or can I just plug it in and let it dangle to test it?

You can PM from the user control panel, or there should be a little message icon on the right side of my post at the bottom under my name.
I'm not a moderator, but it occurs to me that you might have PMs disabled until you reach 10 posts.

I have to second, this posts request, for where to locate a FPCU.

Additionally, what is the correct part designation, and part number for this? I've stumbled upon it referenced as "MODULATOR-FUEL PUMP CONTROL", and this Infinity part # 17001-60U01.

Pardon, if this has been asked before, I'm new to the forum and a 'new' 1996 Q45t driver.

So I finally got around to checking the FPCU, and it works great. I took it for a drive for about 10 miles, gave it a few WOT runs to be sure it works in "high" mode, and it checks out nicely. I did discover that the module grounds through it's bolts to the chassis. I got around pulling the back seat by using a jumper cable between the FPCU and the webbing that runs between the rear strut towers. 3Q, maybe yours happened to be touching something grounded when you've dangle tested yours in the past.

Anyhow, it's available if anyone wants it.

thanks for the update, that's one beeeeeefy ground strap! I'm sure I had a synapse misfire earlier. I did use a gator clip to the strut tower webbing.
I'm guessing the donor was a '96 or a very late '95 based on the date code.
no discoloration on the ground pin---that's a great FPCU for whoever gets it!

Yeah seriously! It's what I could find on short notice :)

The donor was definitely a '95. It had the newer style connector on the MAF. I probably should have snagged it too, but I don't have a good way to test it.

For the search archives.....I don't know exactly when in the '95 run the MAF connector cut over. I can verify that my BlacQ (11/94 build) still has the early MAF connector, even though it suffers from other 94-->95 de-contenting (no "bible", no placard on the front center PCV cover, no lower door edge dust seal, no covers over the door holder/stoppers). All of those of course have been retrofitted on mine.....
