I've read the book and found that the idle is controlled by the computer getting readings from the engine and air temp sensors. My idle when cold is it won't and when warm its 1400. I feel that the PO messed with the set screw on the intake that the throttle cable gear sits on which is causing the idle to be too high when warm.

My question is, How do I go about testing these two sensors? I know that some of you guru's probably know how. Or how about giving me a web site that has to do with testing sensors? Thanks for your help. Jerry...

well, the air intake was dirty inside so i cleaned it up, checked every hose i could for a leak in the vacuum and unpluged and pluged in all conectors four to five times each just to be sure i got good connections and it still idles at 1400rpm's.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Well I decided to check for some codes on the ECU. I got two of them. MAF and CTS. I took the maf out and looked at it. Don't look dirty. Put it back in and started the car. Now it idles like it should! I'm not sure what happened but I'm not complaining!

I Cleared the codes on the ECU and tried it again. I got a big 55. A ok!

I know a lot of you wanted to help me on this but you just didn't have the time. I've been posting this problem for three days and I got it fixed on my own. OK, I did lots of searching on this site to come up with the answers that sent me in the right direction.

Thanks to this site for all the help!!!

probably just cleaned the connections by moving the connectors around.
