1992 Nissan Hardbody Idle Problem

After a recent off-roading excursion i've been having a problem with my idle speed. I slid into a ditch driving and since then when the truck idles the engine speed will increase to just over 2000rpm then it will cut and drop back to 1000 rpm or so and start going back up, and it just keeps repeating that. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this or how to fix it?

sounds like your throttle position sensor is going bad. mine did the same thing, and i replaced it and it ran like a champ till i blew up the motor 4 wheeling it at the mud run.
