i just bought this car last thursday.been doing great, or so i though...

this morning, it took longer than normal to start. but it did. same deal at 2pm when i got out of class.

i get home, park. 3 pm, time to pick up my nephew...car wont start.

it cranks...that about it...

i was outside just a few minutes ago, trying to see what was going on under the hood, but it wasnt till some else got home that i noticed something else...sparks... i just snapped some pics and i will up them so you can see where there originate from.

also, im not sure if t his has anything to do with it...

they guy i bought the car from installed an Ebay CAI, but there is a hose that was damaged, and unconnected...i will also up pics of that...

i hope i didnt get screwed to badly on this purchase...

Post what it was, also cap that hole on the pipe with the air filter, and buy a little cone filter for the black box...

Probably mass air flow sensor?

there's a spark plug wire that connects to the dealy that the sparks were coming out. if you look in the pic, its the grey wire thats just hanging there next to the yellow dip stick.

are you sure the black box is the MAFS? i assumed it was behind the air filter? although i could be wrong.

i bought a hose today and bridged the filter and the box. so i should undo this, huh?so i stick a small filter on the black box, got it

Correct, the black box I was referring to which needs a hose or filter is the Pair Valve, or AIV or whatever they call it here..

It will pump exhaust back into your engine bay without a filter..
