1992 Nissan 240SX Rear Brake Piston

Followed directions in manual for replacing Rear Pads and ready to install new set but can't get the Piston to turn to retract. Any options? Should I try removing the piston and reassembling it?

Brake caliper tool from Autozone. Or, twist with pliers while pushing. Just don't rip the boot.
