I have found a stange substance in the oil cap some in the neck/filler tube. It is the color of butter and about the same consistancy. If you rub it it seems to melt? Any help or suggestions would be apprecitated.

Thanks Bruce

Ive done a million oil changes on a million cars (maybe a little less)i find the crap all the time... from what i understand its nothing to be worried about....just make sure your oil level isnt high (coolant leaking into oil)...i forget what causes that stuff...condensation i think?.....any other guesses?

I would lean towards the condensation thought, but it would take quite a bit of condensation to make the oil turn that way.

I would definitely check the oil level thing to make sure that your coolant isn't contaminating your oil or vica versa

Test on a frying pan and a couple eggs w/toast. Post up your findings.
