I have a 1992 Maxima V6 Auto S, automatic VG30 and I'm slipping in 3rd and 4th.

I'm going to replace the filter and oil on the gearbox first, if that fails then new clutch?

I'm having trouble finding the filter I need, I don't know the gearbox code or anything, would anyone be able to shed some light on this?

Also, if not that, do I need a certain clutch, would an aftermarket one work well? I'm trying to do this cheap as possible near Christmas as need the car sorting fast. Again, not sure what I'm looking for really. New to engine stuff, I'm learning slowly.

You won't have a clutch in an automatic. Torque converter maybe. When you say slipping, what exactly is it doing?

In 3rd and 4th if I try to accelerate it revs up another 1k rpm, then will drive fine. It's not just when changing gear though, basically any time I try to accelerate, it does that. No matter how hard/soft I give the throttle.

Like this?

As far as the filter goes, check rockauto. They'll break everything down by year. Other people are saying it could be a faulty speed sensor, which would make sense cause what I saw was the transmission hunting for gears.
