My grandmother has a 1992 Max GXE with an occasional no start( has been happening more frequently lately) which is followed by a strong fuel smell. It seems to happen after it has been shut off and has sat for about 20 minutes. When you go to try and start again, it will just spin over and over. You then have to wait about an hour before it will try to start again. When this happens we check for spark and there is plenty and we have already replaced the distributor. There is also plenty of fuel getting to the injectors. I just can't seem to understand what would cause it not to start after being off for 10 to 20 minutes with plenty of spark and fuel. Please help. Thanks

Matt

It could be flooded, see if it will start at wot and if it does I would start looking for reasons why it would flood after being shut off, prehaps some of the injector O-rings are cracked or one of the injectors itself is leaking.

I tried starting it with the throttle fully open and it would just spin over. It would have to sit for a while before it would start. I also found out that it would also start to run rough and if you shut it down right after it is running rough, it will not start. Due you think that 1 injector could cause it not to start.

No if 1 injector wasn't working it would still start and run just poorly, Ususally if flooding is the issue a full throttle start will get it going so its either VERY flooded or theres an intermittent electrical issue at play preventing the motor from catching.
