I have a 1992 240sx hatchback with the ka24de, when I start the car dies right away and if it runs a little I hit the gas and then it just dies I think its the fuel pump? Does anyone have any other ideas what it might be? Besides the fuel pump or the MAF sensor because I checked that already. and going to replace the stock fuel pump to a walbro 255.

yea its your fuel...but just to be sure remove your sparkplugs and with the plug attached to the wire have soeone crank the key while u hold the plug to a ground (i use the fender on the driverside) and watch for a spark(you may be getting fuel but no spark) if u get spark then check your pump, filter and lines... if your changing your pump do the filter and lines aswell for longivity of your new pump, less restriction=less wear on pump

You also may want to invest in an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

I had a similar problem with my 92 sx hatch. Check out the 4 lead wires that attach to the fuel pump assembly. You'll see four small plastic caps and a ground wire on the circular disc where your pump assm. goes into the tank. If your car is idling press and wiggle each of the caps. If your car stalls you've found the power problem- a bad connection, not a bad fuel pump. If thats the prblem email me at [email protected] and I'll send you the fix
