Good morning all, I know this has been posted before and I have read through varius articles but I feel I need further assistance.

Yesterday in a parking lot my car started steaming/smoking and overheated. Basically its the "fans not turning on" problem. Below is where Im at with this.

* No collant leaks (I assume the reservoiur shot out the coolant that made it smoke)* I replaced the 4-pin relay and no luck. The other was $40 and they were out of stock...* Did the coolant recently and was carefull to get the air out of the system. * Fuse is fine* Fans will NOT turn on when I start the air conditioner.

I would just wire up a switch on a power lead to controll it manually till I can really afford a repair but I am trying to sell this thing soon.

I have read that it could be the Coolant Temprature Switch. Well everyone says that it's under the Oil Filter but for the life of me I can't see or feel it. Do I have to take the oil filter off to get at it? I dont see an easy way of accessing it from underneath either. Maybe I was reading about another year?Mine is a 1992 G20.

Thanks for any advice you all could offer!

have u tried replacing ur radiator pressure cap? the psi rating on the cap may be too small for ur application. by raising the psi rating, u raise the overall boiling point temperature thus its harder to reach an overheating state.

could be ur thermostat. if it won't open then ur car will overheat quick.

take a look at these two things and see if theres a problem with them. if so then replace them. also check ur water pump. if the bearings in the pump are bad then the shaft has too much freeplay. or the impeller may be broken. either one will create a problem with the flow of coolant directly affecting ur cooling temperatures.

hope this helps man!
