I have a shot at buying a 92 ECU cheaply, I want to send one to JWT but can't afford the 4 week downtime while they modify it, therefore I've been looking for an extra, my only concern is they list it as being from after 2-92 build date. I know my car is pre 2-92 build. Is this a problem? Remember it is going to JWT for modification anyway.

You have much more to worry about than the year the replacement ecu must be the same option model:1.California or 49 states2. Active or standard suspension3. TCS or non tcs4. If a t car or not is not material to selection.

2/92 is actually a 93 model Gold face clock.

The choices are: for 92 std Q, no options, Federal Emissions23710-64U004; 23710-64U005; A18-A21P60 or A18-A21P66

If this doesn't describe you Q give me the exact options and emissions and I'll post the other possible 20 different ecus.

See why they want to modify your existing ecu!

Q45 tech, thanks for your quick response! Thanks to some of your prior thread I was aware of those criterion. My car is a 49 state, traction model 92. The ECU I'm looking at is A18A49P62 which I understand is a Jex number (the original manufacturers for Infiniti) Ben at JWT has translated that number to 2371064U08 which he confirms as 92, 49 state with traction which matches my car, can you confirm that? I would much rather hear it from you! They are more than happy to modify mine, but this is so cheap that if I ever sell the car I could swap it back out for the next old Q or pass it on to another old Q owner, that was my thinking. Can you comment on my other issue regarding TCUs. I've got a choice of a 93 part number 3103664020 and they are saying that is the ONLY number for ALL 93, no difference between 49 state, traction or active, which I ain't believin.' Or a 3103664U12 which They say is off a 92, 49 state, traction car. I've got Ben at JWT still checking on these two, but again I would rather hear ir from you. Obviously the 93 has first gear start, so I could skip the JWT cost?

Either the either the U08. U09, P62, or P68 will fit your 92 TCS 49 state car.

The appropriate 93 ecu [for your model 92 TCS] would be 23710-71U04 or the A18-B12P74.

Nice matrix table in 1994 compliations of tech bulletins or Bulletin number IBT94-047....Aug 30,1994.

Some ecu had an 2371M-*****RE...............replacement ecu same program as 23710-*****

93 ecu only come in 12 different models vs 24 different models for 92

2371064U08/A18A49P62 is the one I'm going with I think that corresponds to you "U08 or P62" comment. Right? And thank you very much! And the TCU is off the same car with a number of 3103664U12 so iit should be ok if off the same car?
