need to know EXACTLY where this fuse is located...cannot find it in driver side panel or under hood....Dash light does not come on when button on steering wheel is pushed even though large "cruise on" button on left side of driver engages and light is on...Maybe switch in steering wheel? How to remove...anyone with similar problem???? Know it is also called ASCD, but NONE of my fuses say either cruise or ASCD.....

Well it has to be in one of those places, look harder. You do know there are like two or three different fuse boxes under the hood, right?

Same thing happened when i swapped clusters, can be affected by the time control unit (driver side foot well), white box one bolt, or a burned out bulb. if it was a fuse the cruise wouldn't work. Mine also kicked off when i turned my lights on, turned out to be a shorted tail light connector. look in unlikely places.

I know this may sound stupid but check to make sure that the clutch pedel is coming all the way out. When I got my 95 240 the cruise didnt work unless you pull the pedel with the top of your foot just alittle bit. The spring gets loose after a while. The light will not come on untill the cruise is active. If your car is auto than this is usless though.

so it will "arm" the green light on the left of the console, but wont "engage" and light the one in the dash. check the brake light switch, tail lights for corrosion. if the ecu thinks you are hitting the brakes it won't come on. thats what was wrong with my 91 auto, the light bulb shorted out, back fed power to the switch, it thought my brakes were being applied, immediately turns it off.

well at one point my brake lights were staying on and so i had to replace the brake stop pad by the brake switch (sort of a negative switch) and i used a bolt because there were none in stock at my dealer...probably haven't used the cruise since then...lights now work, but maybe you're on to something....will check

did check brake light switch, and yes!!!!! the bolt was interfering with the cruise switches function and it thought i was applying the brake....if i pulled the brake pedal up a bit while driving with my foot, and then tried to set cruise it came on!!!! i replaced both the stop pads and adjusted the switches, and all is well!!!! thanks again...
