Hello to everyone. I have a 92 300zx that has a sporadic idle problem that I just can't seem to figure out. I've checked for air leaks, cleaned throttle body, adjusted sensors...and still no fix. The car does one of three things at idle.....1.engine revs up and down between 600 and 1500 rpm, on its own....2.engine holds steady at 1500rpm....3.engine holds steady at 1000rpm. Any ideas on how to fix? The car runs perfectly other than this idle problem that's all over the place. Thanks for any help....

Hey raw , I was just about to post the same issue with my 1991 n/a . I've been on every forum I cld find with no luck myself. Seems like an ez fix. Im no expert but know my way around an engine. Just dont want to start messing with things until someone can post a possible problem or has dealt with it already. Hope someone can help.

Found out the injectors had been replaced and weren't oem. The car was running rich. Instead of leaning the car out with some more air to compensate for the richness, I'm gonna go ahead and put some new oem injectors in there, along with a new harness. Everything else, and I mean everything, checks out ok on the car, so this is all I can see to do...Finall-Z, I hope this helps.

When you go in to replace your injectors, make sure to check the seals under the fuel rails, just in case.

After 24 years, mine were cracked, torn, and causing a hidden vacuum leak that eventually lead to a miss on #3.

Hey thanks for the update and I'll be checking the fuel rail for leaks. Since I'm the second owner I'm positive that my injectors are original. Luckily I got all records with car. Had a strong smell of gas a few times so that cld be the cause. Hope all works out well for you with the new injectors.
