Hey guys,

I’m a newby here.

I have a blue '92 Z and it’s in the shop as we speak with plythera of ailments.

One of the symptoms is horrrrrible shaking when it gets up to or above 45 mph.

The mechanic thinks it’s a bent wheel....I was thinking it may be a drive shaft....

Any thoughts? Anyone know what a new wheel would run off the top of their head?

Thanks for the help!

if it is the problem i had where its a bad shake felt mostly through the steering wheel id take your car to any place that has a wheel balancer and test all of them to see if they need new wieghts or if its like mine and out of round. if thats the case best bet is to look on ebay for your wheel. i found mine and snagged it for like 55 bucks.

Thanks for the reply green. I'll try ebay. I was thinking I may be able to grab a wheel cheap at a junkyard too but Ive never tried that.

my TT had a bad vibration under braking, I replaced rotors and pads on all 4 corners and it still vibrated under braking, when I replaced the tires the shop found one wheel had a "Hop" basically bent in a non visable way untill it was spinning on the machine, this helped a lot, but the pulsation was still there under hard braking, I finally replaced the steering rack bushings and now handles perfectly, the wheel ballance is a cheap item to check and can tell you if you have a bad wheel, the rack bushing would be my next guess if the ballancing doesn't solve anything
