Silly questions from me: ignition fuse in relay box under hood? ignition fuse on positive terminal? alternator fuse under good? (75a.. that thing is a b*tch)

Make sure everything is grounded like it should be, that's all I can suggest. I had same problem with my s13 and it turned out to be a grounding issue.

5 speed? You should also be hearing a click from the clutch interlock relay. It's blue and right behind the passenger side headlight. (I'm pretty sure it is...) If you're not hearing that one, your clutch interlock switch might be either bad or not connected or misadjusted. (assuming it is indeed a 5 speed) Of course it could also be a bad relay or wiring, but that switch is almost always the problem in cases like this.

Ok my bad. On autos it is common for a slightly misadjusted shift rod to keep the inhibitor switch from working properly. Try starting it with the transmission in neutral. If it still won't start, hold the key in the start position while moving the shifter back and forth slightly and if it starts then you need to adjust the linkage.

k i appreciate the advice i have recieved regarding this issue. I just fixed the problem. i don't know exactly what was wrong, but from the looks of things, it turned out to be the wiring harness that is connected to the starter. It is probably just a temp fix but needless to say it was loose of dirty and is working okay for now.......soon i will be able to get it in to the shop and figure out some of the bugs. Thanks for all the feed back.
