1992 240sx throwout bearing troubles

ok I'm having a lot of trouble with this 240. its a 92. the problem is that the throw-out bearing clip keeps falling off(it broke off once). I dont know what the problem would be. I think the clip may be installed wrong so can anyone tell me which one is the correct way?AB

everything is new so far:clutch,throwout bearing,master and slave cylinder,pilot bearing. the clip for the throwout bearing and the one on the fork.

I hope the upper one is correct ... that's the way I just installed one on my '93 pickup .... but I haven't driven it yet.

According to my FSM the top picture shows the correct installation.
