I'm looking to purchase my first 240sx it's a 1992 hatch with a ka24de.It had a small rust spot under the spoiler which the owner has taken care of and also deleted the spoiler it's dark green with leather interior and all the options.completly stock but has some paint fade with 102k miles.the only thing I don't like is the auto transmission. I'm looking to make it a project/ daily driver (paint, rims, springs, handling, and a nice exhaust)until I get the money to do a engine transmission swap but is it worth buying and are they just as fun to drive ?and is it worth giving up my 97 gst in your opinion

The auto is pretty much garbage, although that usually means the car hasn't been shagged like one with a manual trans has. How is the leather interior holding up? You're definitely going to want to do a trans swap before you swap engines. Is this going to be your only car? Plan on running into some downtime while you make it what you want.

The leather has some wear but it's not bad and I have another car for when I decide to do a swap also I'm wanting to possibly do an rb swap and go for broke (I have someone woth a lot of experience to help)also paint is in pretty good condition with no dents and new tires

Sounds like a worthy car, but driving KA auto is very frustrating to me especially after owning a fast S13 or 2. Mine just sat until I did the SR swap / 5-speed upgrade. Great motivation to do the job though.... Good luck!
