OK, so the bracket underneath isn't installed in this pic., I know that. Does engaging the parking brake pull the lever on the caliper (shown) in towards the inside of the wheel well, or let the spring push it out towards the wheel? I tried installing it as it is in the pic (except with the bracket on) but I could barely pull the parking brake one notch. How do I properly re-install it?

Just by looking at the mechanism in that picture, I would say that the cable is pulled to the right side of the picture.

Engaging the parking brake pulls the lever towards the inside. Here's a picture:

I don't recall from memory exactly what goes where, but with only your picture to go on I believe this makes more sense:

You will also probably need to adjust the cable tension at the e-brake handle to get it back to spec.

I saw that contour there, but I want to think the cable goes on the bottom like I have it. It'd provide better leverage there and seems to fit. I could be wrong. I took it apart to swap the pads when I changed my shocks, but I ended up getting called into work tahat evening...my memory got a little fuzzy. I didn't take notes or anything 'cuz I thought it was going right back on and it looks simple enough, right? Ha. So, if someone could check their rear caliper and verify that it'd be great. If pulling the brake does pull that lever to the left (in the pic) and I could hardly budge it, it DOES make sense that I took up too much slack by attaching that cable to the bottom there. I'll be figuring this out more tonight or tomorrow. I didn't try to troubleshoot much because the piston in that caliper is seized anyways and ate the pads like more than 50% faster than the left side. I just wanted to get some opinions before the new calipers arrived. Thanks for the replies.
