1992 240sx HUD problem searched

Ok i finally got my car all put back together and the HUD was working before and now all of a sudden when you first start up the car the MPH just go crazy from like 3-4mph all the way up to 18mph, but it stops after the car gets warmed up, dont know if me and my dad forgot to plug something in or if anyone else has had this problem, also the car is a manual and has the stock ka24de in it. thanks for the help matt
