I just drove "my" 92 240 SE home down the interstate around 15 miles

As I noted in an earlier post the automatic transmission will shift from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd fine. The overdrive is what does not work. The prior owner pointed out some wires leading back towards the transmission that were "chewed" on by some critters and that may be the root cause.

The wires are yellow and yellow with a black or blue stripe. There is also a solid blue and a black that were knawed on.

Maybe tying these back together will solve the problem

The only other thing that I noticed is that the car did not run hot by the gages yet when we parked it, it was gurgling into the overflow pretty steady for a few minutes

There are lots of little things as well

I picked it up for $500

I think a good deal

There are a few in the local junkyard that I intend to savage on Tuesday

Is there a wiring diagram in this group that I can download ?

Any ideas why it runs hot ?

Also, the pressure when you pull off the oil filler cap is pretty intense...is this the PCV or bad valves ?

Thanks

Is this a convertible? Seems like it may be just a coupe or hatch. For general 240 problems:
