Why would this cause my car to run super hot after a few minutes? I also changed plugs, wires, and and oil change at the same time if that gives you any clues. I used liquid gasket sealer on the rubber gasket just like the manual says...everything seams to be solid and not leak...car runs great....but overheats quickly?!? There is also a new radiator that has been instaleld for a few months now and is still full and looks good. There was absolutely NO problem overheating before the valve cover gasket install, so I beleive that is where the problem lies. Thanks!

Well...new info. Two days ago I had the a/c converted and charged...it blew cold and strong with no problems...but now when the car overheats I can turn off the air and it goes back down to normal??? So I am now leaning towards ac issue...but why did it run fine for two days and then go bad right after I changed the valve cover gasket? Coincidence? Belt issue? Compressor ? They tested and found no leaks when they charged it. Help!

Has it been hotter outside the last couple of days?Could be as simple as that. Hot weather and AC is pretty hard on your cooling system.

Is you secondary a/c fan coming on when you kick the a/c on. Also is your clutch fan locking up like it should.

Ok so now I have also changed the thermostat and bled the system...still overheating!!!! The fan seems to be working fine..what is the secondary ac fan? I have tried driving with and without the air on now and it overheats either way.

Did you check the dash gauge temperature sensor and it's harness connector?

How do you check that? What am I looking for?
