Hey all,

new to nico, but i'm on my third 240

1991 ka24de w/ 176,xxx miles 2.5" straight pipe w/ high flow cat

problem : I've changed the spark plugs, spark plug wires, o2 sensor, cleaned the injectors, sprayed the MAF and i just don't understand why the car keeps running rich and shooting out black smoke from time to time. At first it randomly bogs in the middle of driving like it's choking, but at other times it runs strong and perfect. it feels like it has bad air/fuel mixture. The other day i was driving on the freeway and all of a sudden my engine starts to seize, i gas it and nothing happens... randomly, it begins to sputter up again. now it's to the point where the idle jumps from 900 rpm's down to 200 and just chokes, if i gas it, all it does is seize. anyone know what's going on? i think it may be the vaccuum lines, or the fuel pump. any help is appreciated. i haven't taken it to a shop to get diagnostics but, i'm trying to figure this out on my own.

battery connection was faulty. filed off most of the lime build up, and i sprayed MAF cleaner in the MAF sensor.

started up my car and it didnt bog down once. :D

thanks for the info rb25. i looked up some of the older posts regarding the knock sensor. seems like a b_tch to get out. if it gets worse, i'll check it out. but i sprayed the MAF and filed off the lime buildup on my battery connector and the car wasn't giving me any problems today.

yeah cleaning the battery cables is a lot easier than changing the ks sensor. I hope you fixed it.
