Ok I will try to make this short. I have a few issues with my car and im not exactly sure how to fix them. First of all my cruise stoped working about a few months ago, the small green led on the big cruise button comes on but i get nothing when I click on the wheel, and the cruise light on my cluster does not come on at all. I was wondering what to check for. Next question is about my idle dropping to like 100 when Im braking hard, the motor bounces a bit and usually kicks back to perfect idle. but sometimes it will stall. I checked for vacume leakes and found nothing. It had this same problem about 2 years ago and i believe I removed the polution control stuff that seemed to work for a while. My 240 is fairly stock all I have done so far is a kyb's lowering springs strut braces short shifter and my injen cold air intake w/ext. Thats what brings me to my 3rd question, My maf is a lot smaller then the rest of the pipe, my friend with a supra told me he took his out, is this possible in our car. What will I need to do to remove it?? Also when first got my car the ac was warm, so some local garage told me it needed to be converted to the new type. So i did and a week later my ac was banging like all heck, now it's toast, I dont think I will replace it because it is a lot of work and money to properly flush the ac system and no one will guarante anything, is it possible for me to take my ac out? I just feel like it's only an extra pully im turning for nothing. ok last question does anyone else have a problem with there odometer? Mine only works sometimes. I am trying to get this car tuned up a bit better so I can buy a header/cat back , can anyone recomend a good set for a good price?? Last question is how on earth can i disconnect the super hicas. I heard it's better without? true?

Hopefully I can help you out with a couple things...
No, you cannot remove the MAF. It tells the ECU how much air is coming into the engine so it can give you the right amount of fuel, pretty critical.
You can remove the AC, I think all there is to it is taking the belt off the pulley and you don't have to, but you can just rip all the components out of there.
My odometer doesn't work either (when my HUD is not working.) Now that it is getting warm it is usually on all the time, but when the car is cold and the speedo/dash lights do not come on, the odometer doesn't turn.
For exhaust, there are a lot of different, good systems, just depends on what you prefer. BRM and Apexi N1 are two really popular choices. A lot of people (like me) just get 2.25-3in. pipe and a good muffler. I have 2.25" going to a Tanabe muffler I got off Ebay, sounds real nice and only cost like $150 for everything. 3" seems to be popular...it is LOUD but someone said they got a 16hp gain from it.
There are a few companies that make HICAS eliminators, search around and you will find them, I know I have seen different threads floating around about it.

for your cruise control problem, try checking to see that your clutch pedal is coming up all the way when you release it. there's a switch that allows the cruise to be engaged.
when you're on the highway try lifting the clutch pedal with your left foot while trying to engage the cruise control, see if that helps.
hicas - pull the fuse labeled electronics in the driver's side fuse box. if you see the hicas light come on when your key is turned to accessories, then you pulled the right one.
i say drive around with the hicas and without it. see what you like.

another possible solution to the cruise problem is that one of the hoses that connects to the cruise control unit is leaking/frayed. my cruise never worked (the green led in the dash would come on, but it would never keep my speed) until I finally checked it last week and found that the end of the hose was split and torn . so i just cut off the bad end, hooked it back up, and i've had cruise ever since. hope this helps.
