1991 Q45A-suspension problem

Just joined the forum today searching for help on 91 Q45A.Saw earlier post and help offered by Texasoil to "how to diagnosis suspension problem" Rear shocks "delated" when engine turned off,,,,,,,,,,,and now completely flat and on spring (if at all), large oil stains in driveway.

Could anyone offer help and where to begin.

Sounds like your struts are blown? How are your chain guides? Article is in that Forum you must read if you don't know if they have been replaced.

I just saw 2 used rear actuators in ebay for $200. Do you have a fsm? if not Wes may be able to help you.

I had someone look at it and took a digital pic(how do i post it here)Appears one of solenoid valves (???) is leaking on the right rear side.

Somebody needs rear actuators (you call that shocks)?They are on e-bay.

I have also centralvalve unit and pressure regulator solenoids, if somebody get interested. Can sell.

cool that you are watching out for highpointclays.

Clay: your picture is of the rear main valve unit. the two sausages are the solenoids for the right and left rear control valves for the struts. those are air bleeders on the ends [like brakes]. hook up with Gatis, sounds like he has the rear main valve unit. also, your valve unit is very grimey. did you lose your cover? might be something else to look into so that a replacement doesn't get all debris'd out.

Highpoint and I are exchanging info--Isent him (gratis) the O-ring seal for the solenoid actuator coil. Looks like someone in the past has put one between the sol. housing and the valve body--thats a no-no. The 'seal' is an O-ring on the nose of the solenoid that screws into the valve body. An external oring is guaranteed to fail--nothing but friction to hold it in place.
