I found a 1991 Q45 Build Date (2/91) sadly no the new seat controls not the old ones where the seat controls looked like seats.

But the transmission fluid is bright red even more than mine but the car has been sitting for 1.5 years.

If I decide to install the transmission on mine will I have to do any modifications to the Speed sensors or will I just bolt it on and not worry about anything else?

The gears are faster on this on than the one I currently have that's why I ask this.

As far as I know the gearing was the same in model years 90-93? You mentioned a '94 transmission in the subject line. Are you saying the salvage Q is a '91 with a '94 transmission installed on it?

BTW, the seat shaped seat controls only came on the 1990 models... apparently Mercedes threatened legal action against Infiniti because they were too similar.

He's tried to explain to me before why he thinks he has a 94 trans and I didnt understand it... If he's got the original transmission im sure he's got the regular 90-93 gears.

Unless his was a very late build '93 and got a '94 transmission? Unlikely, but who knows... I wonder if there is a transmission part number stamped on the transmission case that would clear it up?

I called up IOS and they said with my VIN, That the car calls for a 94 transmission 51x75 In think I forget off hand. and in the 1993 FSM the gears are the same as the 1994 gears so thats how I know.

Don't confuse the year of manufacture with the model year. Most 1994 [front grill] were made in 1993.

With that build date, I would think it is a 1992 model year.

What does the title say?
