Just wondering I had to replace the 12" high-pressure hose with banjo fittings and wondered if anyone knew what to torque them to because they are tough to guess on. THX!

I tried to post the pages from the factory service manual (FSM) for you but seem to have forgotten how.

I know nothing about power steering other that what I see in the FSM on pages ST-14 and ST-27. One shows the banjo fitting on the PS pump outlet torqued to 51-58 ft/lbs. The other shows a couple of hoses with banjo fittings on the PS rack torqued to 14-20 ft/lbs. Hope this helps.

You can download a free copy of the FSM at phatg20.net. It's a compressed file so you'll need Winrar to unzip it.

Goto phatg20.net main and click through - it is working again. I'm on dialup and they were down at the time so I just tightened the hell out of it .. took an impact to get it off in the first place. Had the hose custom made for $50 at a local hydraulics shop cause everyone wanted $150 for it stock. Small leak but not bad will check at next oil change.

Small leak at idle or under a load? I found that with the p/s system, a very minor leak at idle squirts like a shower head when you're actually turning the wheels under a load.... just something to keep in mind.

No not even that much just "leeching" around where bolt meets banjo like 2 oz between oil changes. Probably needs new washers and tightened ..

just met a friend with a Q45t & his squirts... he has to replace the pwr steering fluid every 2 weeks & mine sounds the same unfortunate... heard my mines were replaced too but whatev as long as its fixed

it actually is very noticeable when under load & the 'whine sound' intensifies after constant use, + after turning off the car its REALLY noticeable for about 2.5 seconds you can hear the release of pressure i believe...

Thank you NICO for the help once again!
