hey guys, im doing a CA18DET Swap into an S13 and since the 91ish Q45 Ignitor is "the same" according to 99% of the people ive spoken to, yet we are still having issues. i figured id post this here and see what i can get.
FIRST OFF, The problem
1. Ignitor is getting ungodly hot. it will leave burns on your hand if you touch it2. Pin #45 inside the CA ecu is frying on the board. It is a B/R wire which goes directly to the ignition switch.3. WE ARE PULLING OUR HAIR OUT AND I NEED MY CAR ON THE ROAD ASAP! lol
what we are looking into is the possibility of for some reason the pinout as far as the ground, possibly being different between chassis. My biggest problem in finding this out is that i cannot find a 1991 FSM (EC section) to determine this.
ive found very ****ty diagrams that tell us that the wiring is a different pinout, BUT its hand drawn on paint, not from an FSM.
The PN on the ignitor we are using is 62020-60U00 Square in shape and has heatsyncs
I am not a wiring person by any means, my buddy mark has been gracious enough to spend countless hours doing this with/for me. But we are at a huge standstil with this, We cannot figure it out for the life of us
If anyone has info on the pinout or if they can be gracious enough to copy and paste the page that shows the Ignitor pinout with labled wire colors i would greatly appreciate it!
thanks for helping out however you can guys!
Phil
