I am having a problem with the driver seat memory. After programming two preset positions on the memory, I found that in order for it to work I have to keep pushing either memory button until it gets almost to it's preset position and then it goes the rest of the way on it's own. What I can't seem to figure out is to why it waits until it is almost where it is supposed to be before it picks up the rest of the way on it's own. And it's not just the seat, it is also the steering wheel position to. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you do to fix it? Thanks

How does it respond when you exit the car? Does the steering wheel retract all the way, or does it sometimes stop after jumping an inch or so? There are some limit switches (think slide volume control on a radio) that tell the system where the wheel is located. I had very good results (50K+ trouble free) after cleaning them with contact cleaner. You can sometimes clear minor debris on the switches by repeatedly moving the steering wheel from the upper to lower limit manually with the joystick beside the turn signals.

As far as the seats - Mine stays all the way back, so it's never been an issue.

You might try disconnecting the battery overnight too - sometimes that will purge minor electrical gremlins.

The seat and steering wheel move less then half an inch when exiting and entering. Did you say that you fixed the problem with the seats by cleaning the limit switches? If so, where are they located exactly?

P.S. I tried what you said as far as moving the seats and steering wheelrepeatedly with no results.

Remove drivers seat and work from bottom, same with steering column covering ---------a job for experts. Just part of the $3,000 per year PRORATED [15 cents per mile] maintenance and repair budget.Everything is detailed in FSM.

My driver's seat never moves... it's all the way back unless someone else is driving. That happens about one a year. Sooo... I don't know if the steering wheel limit switches and seat motion are related. I'd try the disconnecting the battery first...
